Overview
The RCI TW utilizes a dual-wheel contact system with high-precision optical encoders and redundant inertial sensing to capture sub-millimeter variations in track geometry. Its low-speed operation (1–2 km/h) enables detection of short-wave irregularities (wavelength < 3 m) critical for ride quality on high-speed lines. The trolley measures gauge, superelevation, twist, alignment, profile, and versine with consistent ±0.30 mm accuracy on gauge and superelevation. Data is synchronized with sleeper numbering for precise defect localization. Suitable for post-construction verification, weld zone inspection, and pre-tamping baseline surveys.
